As this year’s Rethinking Trauma webinar series comes to a close, I’d like to take a moment to thank you for tuning in.

Every time we run a series, I’m humbled by the number of people who take part. In this series, 19,566 practitioners joined us for one or more of the webinars.

I’m thrilled to see so many folks coming together here from around the world, so I wanted to give you a quick report for a glimpse of the community you’ve been a part of – a global network from 83 countries:

And one other thing. . .

. . . last Sunday we sent out a note letting folks know that we wanted to help out with the Ebola crisis by donating our entire day’s sales to Save the Children for kids left orphaned by the virus.
So I am pleased to share with you that we will be donating $46,362.

We are truly thankful for our Gold Members. If you would like to put these insights to use in your own work, it’s not to late to get in – just click here.

Not sure if this is the place to ask this; I signed up for the Rethinking Trauma Webinar Series – Gold Package on 11.23.14. I never took the series but never got a notice that my purchase would expire after a certain time. Can I still take this series?

As a former hospice and bereavement counselor and current Life Skills Coach, I very much appreciate the access to current information from the mouths of the experts. I also appreciate the preparatory work that goes into ensuring we attendees get the most bang for the buck (figuratively speaking for those of us who can’t afford the Gold Membership), in the allotted time. Thank you for the well-thought-out questions, as well as for the post-webinar recaps and chat with Drs. Lanius and Siegel.
I could not help but notice that we have need of a prayerful, positively regarded thought to be directed at an obviously distressed poster (see “Jessica,” 2 Dec14). There is something to be said for a conscious, collective, positive wish aimed at relieving the pain of another. We can all afford to chip in for that.
Sincere thanks and gratitude, Dr. B.

I feel so appreciative of living in the West and having easy access to knowledge and learning at my fingertips when so many people around the world have not. It would be great to think of a way we can support therapists globally to support their much needed work. I am so grateful to be a part of this growth movement and sharing with my clients whenever I can.
    Thanks to Ruth and NICBM

It seems as if only 4 people from the whole of Africa are involved ,, (Kenya is the only African country listed,) and not one from South Africa … we are a traumatized society …Please can we rectify this ?

    Dear Ruth,
Thank you so much for arranging this series and make it available worldwide.
It is amazing to realize that we are all indeed similar deep inside. Everyone of us.
I hope I could better afford to pay such series in future to support this wonderful program.
I am proud to be one of those from Malaysia too.
    Thank you.

I was only able to catch Dan Siegel MD. But I was so moved by his research and discoveries about adolescent brain that I bought his new book, Brainstorm, audio version. I know I will benefit from his work. Bought one for a lending library too. Thank you for the interviews and the series. Glad to know I am part of a very intelligent and compassionate community. I am finding that more and more people are attending the mindfulness classes with PTSD and severe anxiety and need all the help I can get to assist them in learning to undo some of the damage done by trauma. Mindfulness helps but is only a piece of the puzzle.

Thank you for all your hard work and the brilliant insights of all presenters.
This uplifting and significant learning experience will go a long way to helping heal our world. Everyone living today has been traumatized. Making a peaceful society depends on our clear understanding of its anxiety-ridden aftermath.
    Excellent!

Thank you for the series although I am still trying to access it. I actually recently relocated to Nigeria after 25+ years in USA. It was difficult staying connected with the series in Nigeria because of the internet connectivity. The frequent freezing and overall poor reception prompted my signing up for the Gold membership. I am hoping that I will have access to the series indefinitely so I can review them all at my own pace. I have not yet decided what exactly I will be doing here in Nigeria but I know that information from the series as well as staying connected to this community will be very helpful. Thank you for thinking of and helping the Ebola ravished areas of West Africa.

    Many Thanks Ruth,
For your efforts in bringing such high quality information at a most reasonable cost to so many of us. I am nourished by the sense of community and thrilled with the possibility of helping those I can touch in my personal circle.
May this spectacular growth of service continue in the new year just ahead.
    Happy Holidays to you all.

I have very much appreciated the learning experience and the excitement of discovering research and practice wisdom which can inform my practice, and spark further curiosity. Taking up the offer of Gold membership has allowed me to feel relaxed about exploring these webinars at a slower pace so I’m still looking forward to engaging with some of them. Thanks Ruth for your enthusiasm and dedication to sharing this important information and research.
i was very pleased to see so many Australians tuning in to this series. Thanks so much for sending on this information!

I am struck that no one is tuning in from West Africa — Liberia, Sierra Leone — places ravaged by ebola and horrific civil wars. Many there are restricted to their homes and could benefit enormously from these broadcasts.
No doubt this absence of an audience is due in part to inadequate internet access. But if anyone needs help with trauma, they do. How can we get these valuable, encouraging resources to them?
Thanks, Ruth and NICABM, for all you are doing.

All the of presenters in this series have written books detailing their work. I have bought several of them and digested the material with much empowerment. If books are available to these people, it might be a great way to disseminate the material to many folks in need. Also, there are many You Tube presentations by the presenters. They would only be helpful, of course, if Internet were available.

    Thank you Ruth!
For all the many things that you have done to make this series possible and so rich in personal caring and life-changing information. I so appreciate the deep attention that you clearly give in preparation and delivery of the interviews. I think interviewing is quite a difficult thing to do and I am grateful that you are there to do it so well and bring out the gems that the speakers hold in their life and professional experience.
Thank you also for sending this overview of the trauma webinar participation – exciting and inspiring…it is heart warming to feel the global connection.
    Warm wishes,
    Alison MacLeod
