The reflection was a nice gentle reminder that those we have loved and lost remain with us and that connection is always available when we can rest the stories and emotions in the background and get quiet enough.
Tara,
I am so grateful that I have been guided into this space.
Your words and wisdom have given me hope that it will be possible for me to face grief in a SAFE way. Thank you for sharing the story of your experience with your condition that robbed you of your mobility and left you confronting the possibility that it might never be restored. I remain curious about your journey back to heath and restoration of your mobility. Would you be willing to share? Or perhaps direct me to your writing or teaching about this?
I am seeking solutions for my husband’s condition and my concern for his mobility and safety.
We reside in South Carolina where our state motto is “While I breathe I hope”.
I am so grateful that you have given me HOPE.
Many Blessings 🙏🙏🙏
Tara,
I have tried working with mindfulness for many years and still don’t get the sense I’m really there. Nature is my most peace, quiet place. Thanks for these shorts talks.
My losses have been enormous—my mother in March 2026 and her younger sister, my aunt in August 2026. An aunt I was very close with—indeed a mother figure.
Your comment about something greater is what I’m trying to find. I just don’t feel it as I struggle with the loss of my husband. I’m dealing with depression and anxiety. I’ve practiced meditation for years but I’m overwhelmed with sadness and grief.
I find such comfort in your sharing. It opens me up to the deeper feelings that I’m feeling and experiencing. I have a strong faith and a sense of being held and loved and I know that I will be supported in the months ahead as my husband and I traverse this path we are on which is his diagnosis of cancer.
So grateful for you Tara! You have a special gift to help all of us learn how to create space for grief, however it shows up! Thank you for sharing your love, kindness and knowledge as it allows us to develop, expand, and hold for ourselves and others.
A friend with whom I share no common spiritual path is facing a huge grief. I’m not sure how to share my belief that spiritual connection is key to weathering this without sounding patronizing. Obviously this grief can’t be ‘resolved’ by me but I want to offer solace. Small acts of kindness and care, trying to bring my love to her doesn’t always feel like enough.
Thank you Tara. Having a sense of being part of a larger loving presence helps to heal from past regrets and shame. Giving me a feeling of acceptance and belonging.
Thank you for the third video. A client lost a beloved pet of 13 years. The dog was part of the family. The last 3 years the dog got fully blind. No vets bill would stop them carrying on, making the dog feel as comfortable as possible. Due to the dogs very painful ending to life, the whole family were deeply effected. He was angry with himself for the times he was frustrated with the blindness, but also struggling with the deep caring involved. For the last year after the passing, they are still missing him . But video 3 has helped in stand on a walking meditation with his spiritual mentor Thich Nhat Hahn holding hands and also the dog peppy with them. Although the tears were flowing, he felt refreshed afterwards. Then an insight came while standing with Thich Nhat Hahn. The next dog will be a puppy raising for the blind dog organisation. Thank you for your help on this video.
I felt being held with a Spiritual Sufi Group called ruhaniat sufi order, with Mankind Project Weekends, retreats, and circles, with Quackers Friends Clearing Process.
Hi reach out to the Angela who envelop and comfort me with their spiritual presence. I find this a great source of comfort reinforcing I can ask for their support at any time
I desperately want to experience a felt sense of being both part of and held by a higher power. My grief is anticipatory (dog, mom, wife, humanity, nature) and I fear my feelings of loss will consume me. This fear of my own unsafe feelings creates so much anxiety. Thank you for this offering. it is so very timely.
I felt deeply lost when I lost my partner and at the same time the posibillity to have a child. I was around 40. Structure was one form of help. My job. I had to be there for my clients. In a strange way I think we healed one another. I felt deeply with them, I was more open and could contain more. My world got bigger. I also went for walks and took photos in my city of all small things that I found curious or beautiful, so bringing my focus of attention outside helped me too.
For years, my meditation practice has involved generating a feeling of love within myself by bringing my guinea pig, Pouncey, into my thoughts. I’ve continued this practice every day even though I’ve been struggling with depression since he passed away in April. This video helped me to see that I can still sit in that feeling of deep love even if I stop actively thinking about Pouncey. I’m feeling a lot better now that I’m perceiving it as a field of loving rather than a very specific love, so YOU have helped me feel held in hard times – thanks, Tara! <3
Reconnecting and regaining my trust and faith in community groups I had previously felt rejection from. Shifting focus which has since invited community members into my life from unexpected people who sincerely care and are there for me.
Continuing bonds, I see animals that remind me of people I have lost and I am reminded about what makes that person speical and how they still live in my memory. Animals help me to know that the spirit of people still can exsist.
I have learned to do the RAIN practice, and, over time, I have developed a “tribe“ of significant people who sit with me and give me support, strength, guidance, and love. These are people I know of, but did not know personally. Each brings a strength, a significant sense of gravitas and an unshakable faith in what they know. And they give me support and strength. They understand my pain. At other times, I call upon a spiritual figure of my own imagination who brings the specific qualities of tenderness, empathy, and compassion. She holds me very tenderly, and I feel completely loved for exactly who I am. I know these beings are there in my imagination, but that doesn’t make the experience less real or less effective. They have been enormously helpful for me to heal when the love and support of friends and family can’t meet me where I am. I’m deeply grateful for this practice that you, Tara, taught me in your talks and in the MMTCP program. 🙏
Working on my art work, getting lost in creating for hours and feeling Joy and delight.
Walking in nature, where I feel totally at ease and accepted by the elements, the trees, plants, animals. I remember we are one.
I had a dream a few years ago when I was going through the deepest part of my grief. A strong, wise being pulls me out of water where I feel like I’m drowning. I see her arm and hand pull me to safe ground. I am a little girl. She tells me I’m strong, good and safe as she gently and lovingly dries me off. I feel warm and loved. I go to this safe being when I am struggling.
Feeling the empathy of others and the connection to others has given me the strength to move through the difficulties. Knowing that you are not alone is so important during hard times.
In the past my belief in something greater has always helped, but at the moment I am overwhelmed by the suffering in the world and the potential suffering of those I love, nothing seems to be helping.
I can pray and ask for help but nothing is shifting my anger and fear.
When I’ve gone through big losses before there have been moments when I’ve felt this deep sense of tapping into a universal love. That care and creativity of all existence, particularly in nature. Going through a second big loss in life, the end of my marriage I find myself grasping to be in that place again. To feel connected to that universal love, but it’s something where if you reach for it, it is hard to feel, instead I think it’s about surrender and letting go to the grief. Only then can get realise we are already dipped in this well of great universal love.
When I was going through my dark times I always held onto “where there is life there is hope” and with the help family friends and faith I got through. My belief in God and connection to the Universe reminded me that despite the awful pain I was not alone. Thank you for your wisdom
These healing messages are so touching – they’ve opened my heart. They matter so much for people moving through difficult losses on so many levels. As a former New York City resident, I’m currently feeling the same sadness that’s present every year the day before 9/11 ceremonies. Watching presentations on the news, I still feel grief, not for any personal loss, but the loss of these individuals and their families living within my community 25 years ago. Thank you so much for offering this video training.
Breaking through the illusion of separation and surrendering to the larger field of aliveness in nature, feeling the support of earth, water, fire, air, plants, animals, ancestors, friends, and our cosmic connection with stars, Sun and moon all help us become whole again. Going for solo travels or visiting a dear friend far away within the first year or two help lighten the heaviness of grief.
