Reversing The Effects of Trauma: The Body as Ultimate Healer
Maggie Phillips, PhD & Robert Scaer, MD |
| |
|
Using the body as the ultimate healer of
trauma is a new emphasis in psychotherapy. In this workshop,
designed to teach both the art and science of reversing the
effects of trauma, participants will learn the most recent
neurophysiological advances in diagnosis, a 5-step model to help
clients achieve body presence, and specific protocols from
Somatic Experiencing(TM) and Energy Psychology (EP). Special topics
will include: everyday sources of trauma; how to restabilize and
expand the resources of the body self; 3 EP methods to activate,
treat, and resolve trauma; and how to turn on pleasure and move
beyond shame.
