In healthcare, we too
often depend on procedures and pills and spend less time with patients. We
treat body parts and diseases, but we hardly connect at a personal level. In behavioral
medicine, to help people make healthful changes, we must connect with them at the level of the
heart...seeing their strengths in addition to their problems; helping them to view their former
landscape with new eyes, and inspiring their beliefs toward action and well-being. In this Master
Class, using ritual and ceremony, we will explore the many ways to connect with patients at the heart level
to maximize our healing power. |
