Sacred Sexuality: Integrating Personal, Emotional and Spiritual Values in Sexual Intimacy

Dr. William Defoore, PhD

Most individuals have not received a healthy, balanced introduction to sexuality in their lives. Religious views, parental awkwardness, Puritanism, and the cultural sexual shadow give most of us a much distorted orientation to this aspect of life that ideally embodies creativity, connection, ecstatic pleasure and spiritual union with our spouse or partner. We will examine the process of making sexuality sacred in our lives, and how this can be communicated to others both personally and professionally, and the many health benefits that can result. Also included in this workshop will be a brief discussion of sex addiction and effective treatment approaches.
