Getting Unstuck: Facilitating Focusing

Ann Weiser Cornell, PhD

When faced with clients who seem stuck in painful emotions or patterns of avoidance, even the most skillful therapist can feel frustrated and discouraged. In this experiential presentation, you'll learn specific interventions that you can incorporate in any therapy practice based on Inner Relationship Focusing, a powerful, effective way to help clients who are stuck. You'll come away with fresh understandings and practical skills for helping clients develop a new relationship with their difficult emotions. You'll also have a greater ability to create an ambience of safety in your work with clients to help them explore their inner landscape without shame or fear.
