Hardwired to Heal: Four Pathways of Transforming Trauma through Somatic Experiencing

Diane Poole Heller, PhD

Cutting-edge brain and nervous system research has shown how body-oriented psychotherapy has distinct advantages to clearing fear and trauma from the body. With this exciting information we can now effectively enhance our support of trauma survivors. Now we can more efficiently alleviate devastating symptoms such as dissociation, grief and loss, pain and the overall emotional, cognitive and physical distress so often lodged in body and soul through Somatic Experiencing(R) (SE). In this workshop, you will learn how to accelerate healing through four body/mind pathways, discover the underlying physiology of trauma and its implications, and explore the thawing of frozen responses to mobilize self protective actions and to gain a sense of empowerment and resiliency.
