Mood, Food, and Behavior
Norm Shealy, MD, PhD
Until about 1940, 90% of the food we eat was grown within 50 miles of the consumer: there
were no fast foods, pop was minimally consumed, MSG was barely known, and Aspartame and
many other "artificial" additives did not exist, but now all that has changed. Learning
from a master neurosurgeon, participants will understand why food is the foundation for
mood and behavior, how nutritional deficiencies contribute to disease, how depression,
anxiety, and insomnia can be managed without drugs, and why our understanding of nutrition
is so important in today's world. Participants will learn critical nutritional interventions
and how to integrate a variety of techniques for safe effective treatment.
