Appreciative Inquiry:
Optimizing Strengths in Conversations,
Consulting, and Coaching
Marge Schiller, PhD
We find what we seek.
Therefore when our search is for the strong and good and our
questions reflect that quest, we can extend and elevate the
best of who an individual or organization is. However, so
many of our methods automatically search for any problem
that exists, work toward fixing that problem, often leading
to finding more problems. Appreciative Inquiry, an approach
initially developed to help organizations change, is based
upon the belief that change follows the direction of
inquiry. This session will present an introduction to
Appreciative Inquiry and its applications as well as
demonstrate its use. Learn how appreciating what is best can
help build a future where the best becomes more common.
