Cancer Guides:
Becoming an Effective Integrative Care Guide for Cancer Patients

Henry Dreher, MA

Cancer Guides is a model of treatment that can be carried out by any provider ranging from therapists, nurses, CAM practitioners, to physicians. This model is a unique educational and supportive role that sees the patient through every phase from diagnosis to treatment and recovery. In this workshop, you will be shown how to research mainstream as well as experimental treatment options, perfect the art of non-judgmental listening, and cultivate an authentic language of hope. In looking at complementary/alternative therapies for cancer, you will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff to provide support and practical options for mind-body and psycho-spiritual interventions.
