Is Stress Making You Fat?
How to Break the Stress-Fat Connection and Heal Your Life

Karen Wolfe, MD

Chronically elevated levels of stress hormones not only stimulate appetite, but also encourage intra-abdominal fat storage that can lead to serious illness. How you respond to and cope with stress affects your appetite, body composition and overall fitness level. After the age of forty, the accrued stresses of a lifetime and declining metabolism begin to take a physical toll on the human body and soul. This presentation will look at the science behind stress and fat, the role of cortisol in refueling appetite, and Syndromes X and W.
