The
National Institute for the Clinical Application of
Behavioral Medicine was founded in Connecticut in 1987 to
establish practitioner-oriented conferences and seminars for
health care providers, specifically on the interface between
health and psychology.
We recognize the realities all practitioners
face each day and the need for innovative solutions. Because
of this, the Institute is most well known for its emphasis
upon programs with "take-home" ideas. We take great pride in
searching out a multidisciplinary faculty of the world's
most remarkable care givers to create an unparalleled learning
experience.
The National Institute for the Clinical
Application of Behavioral Medicine supports the integration
of mind/body and behavioral medicine with Western medicine.
NICABM does not advocate the use of alternative and/or
complementary medicine in lieu of conventional medicine.
NICABM supports the thoughtful consideration of the research
and efficacy of behavioral medicine and, where appropriate,
the application and integration of these treatment
modalities.
