This is a very good article on Guided Imagery. I use Guided Imagery in my Hypnosis practice and in my Emotional Free Techniques and this article has given me new ways to use guided imagery.

Thanks so much for providing such wonderful articles to us for free.

I have been doing Guided Imagery since I did trainings at the Psychosynthesis Institute in San Francisco in the 1980's. I look forward to reading this report and hopefully adding more skills to my repetoire.

Thank you for providing information at no charge to other clinicians in your field.

A fantastic resource that, it appears to me, fits well into an eclectic tool bag and can be combined with recognised therapies - traditional, modern and post modern. I have incorporated GI into my work with trauma survivors and also used it to help the less-recognised condition of VT when working as supervisor to other therapists who hear trauma stories every day.

Thank you very much for the Guided Imagery. I look forward to perusing it as soon as possible. (Makes me hope one of my clients won't turn up tomorrow so that I'll have some time for reading.) Anyway, it is very kind of you to make this information available free of charge, and I thank you.

I am happy to see guided imagery becoming more mainstream. I have found meditation and guided imagery very useful for decades and have had many experiences with people making great leaps of progress that simply could not be made without it.

It has been said that magic always precedes science in any field. There are those of us that never will be scientists, so I am gratified to see that the scientists are starting to study these kinds of subjects in psychology.

I had purchased the book "Guided Imagery: From Accrued Wisdom to State of the Art Practice". I found it informative; yet I'd appreciate a site or book that has more actual manuscripts for a novice to provide to my clients. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks so much.

Belleruth Naparstek is the definitive expert on the use of guided imagery for healing trauma. The entire book, Invisible Heroes has been an invaluable resource that I refer to again and again in my hypnotherapy practice. In my opinion it is essential to own a copy of this text in one's professional library. Naparstek's work is well evidenced and beautifully written speaking volumes to the human spirit and our capacity to heal.

It was well-organized and formatted for easy reading. I appreciate that. I've used imagery in many forms for about 35 years. It's very powerful, but most powerful when integrated with body awareness. While I was reading the article and her case examples, I just kept thinking that they could have been handled faster and with a LOT less pain to the client if the imagery were used in combination with EFT. Nevertheless, it was informative and useful. Thanks for all that you do.

I thought the report was great. I highly recommend Belleruth Naparstek’s guided imagery cds to many of my clients that I serve for grief support, stress reduction, weight loss, and cancer support. Her imagery lends itself to being used in a faith community setting. Many people picture God or Jesus as the light in her references.

Thanks so much for this report. It affirmed much about the modalities I use that integrate guided imagery thru Senoi Indian dream work, NLP, Therapeutic Art Methods, Therapeutic Touch and resonance in music therapy. I've come to understand that any modality that transcends the boundaries of beliefs, culture, gender, state of health and age truly connects us with the 'inner one that knows...'Healing follows, when we appreciate that even for a terminal patient, death can be a healing.
Thanks and blessings for sharing all you do...

Thanks once again, Ruth and Belleruth for your thoughtful generosity! Invisible Heroes has been on my desk since shortly after it was published and it was good to reread this excerpt once again. Guided imagery has been an integral part of my own recovery and healing from post traumatic stress. The imageries complimented and deepened my spiritual practices of forgiveness and gratitude. They seemed to expand and power up the other imagery work I had been doing. I will always remember when I realized that my brain really had changed!(my husband concurs!). The imageries continue to play through my thoughts daily. Reading them over and over and then recording them in my own voice somehow planted them in my cells so deeply that life became sweet and full again when I wasn't lookin'!

For me, this material was an excellant revue of guided imagery;it is one of the best that I've come across in a long time. Belleruth Naparstek was impressive with her clarity and almost literary expressiveness. Reading this material has made me type up an order with Amazon for Napastek's books! Ruth, thank you for the great presentations and for your continued generosity....you, certainly, are one of a kind: outstanding.

Thanks so much for the free guided imagery article. We use Bellerth's CDs with our cancer patients, who especially benefit from listening to them while going through chemo and radiation. We also use her General Wellness CD in Spanish for our Outreach stress reduction programs/retreats for Latina women in low income communities. These women just love listening to the CDs! I also appreciate the other free downloads you provide, Ruth. So thank you again and keep up your good work!

Thanks so much for the free guided imagery article. This was an informative and a practical guide that I hope to use during my graduate counseling internship this coming fall and spring. I have used guided imagery as an RN for clients struggling with pain management. This guide will be something I use for clients who are seeking help with stress, anxiety, and ruminative thinking. I will pass this along to other students as well. Thanks again.

I appreciate the time that was taken to share the information in the article. I see guided imagery as ancient as story telling by indigenous peoples to relieve suffering. I am a practitioner who really appreciates the confirmation after many years of operating in left field as far as the profession goes. I kept trying to tell people I was in right field not left (smile). I was hoping to get some suggested scripts from the article. I guess I'll just have to buy the book! I also use drumming with clients that are having difficulty with agression. Thank you so much. I will continue to follow the work of Belleruth Naparstek, LISW. Thank you Dr.Buczynski for making this available.
