Milton Erickson held the view that psychosomatic symptoms were a direct gateway
to the healing power of the creative unconscious. Through the wisdom of this
perspective, symptoms can be viewed as pathways for generating positive
therapeutic outcomes, even in unusual and difficult cases.
Insight Meditation or Vipassana is a simple practice of observing experience
from a place of stillness. This enables one to relate to life without fear and
to begin to accept pleasure and pain, fear and joy, and all aspects of life with
increasing equanimity and balance.
Learn to become more creative in your treatment approach as we integrate the
essential practice of mindfulness with the clinical applications of Erickson's
work. Recent advances in neuroscience, as well as leading edge skills in the
field of somatic psychology will also be included.
Day One
- The function of pacing and leading for developing rapport and mirroring
natural learning rhythms.
- Naturalistic trance and healing metaphors for the more rapid treatment of
trauma, pain, and the transformation of destructive emotional states.
- Framing, reframing, and de-framing patterns and core beliefs to generate new neural pathways for brain-mind reeducation and brain plasticity.
Day Two
- Somatic psychological methods for promoting Peak Performance and Positive Psychology to achieve optimal states of creativity and wellness
- Mindfulness Meditation and its clinical applications
- The clinical application of Buddhist remedies for dealing with anxiety, depression and other afflictions of mind.
