Health and Mental Health Practitioners

NICABM is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.

Physicians

The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine (NICABM), is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. NICABM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 40 credit hours in category 1 toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Social Workers

    This program meets the qualifications for:

  • The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) qualifications for up to 40 hours of continuing education credits.
  • California Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE 237-Exp.6/11) qualifications for 40 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs
  • The Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (BAP-391-Exp. 3/11) for 40 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs.
  • The Ohio Counselor Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (provider #RCS030801 Exp.3/11) qualifications for up to 40 hours of continuing education credits.

Nurses

This program has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses (CEP 11900) for up to 45 contact hours.

Counselors

    NICABM is recognized by:

  • The National Board of Certified Counselors (Provider # 5381 Exp. 4/10)
  • The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider # PCE 237 Exp. 6/11)
  • Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (Provider # BAP-391 Exp. 3/11).


Marriage and Family Counselors

This course meets the qualifications for up to 40 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE 237 Exp. 3/11) and the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (BAP-391-Exp. 3/11).

Accreditation

The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine (NICABM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. NICABM is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. NICABM maintains responsibility for the program. NICABM is also recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC continuing education guidelines. In addition, the course meets the qualifications for 40 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE237 Exp. 3/11) and the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling (BAP391 exp. 03/11). NICABM is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses (CEP 11900 Exp. 3/11) for 45 contact hours. NICABM, as the approved sponsor, maintains responsibility for the program and must abide by each board's continuing education guidelines.

CME/CE Credits

NICABM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 40 credit hours in category 1 toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. 16 continuing education credits for the main conference (Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00pm though Saturday at 12:00 Noon) are available for physicians, psychologists, counselors, marriage and family counselors and social workers. Nurses are approved for up to 18 contact hours.

Important Note

Psychologists, please note that APA rules dictate that the main conference must be attended in its entirety for the credits to be earned. No partial credit is possible. Separate credit is also available for Pre and Post-Conference Workshops. In our continuing commitment to be a leader in the field and to offer a breadth of topics, some of which are uncharted, cutting-edge ideas, the following sessions are not approved for CE credit for psychologists:

Important Information

Please Read Carefully! If you are interested in receiving continuing education credits and/or a certificate of attendance for this conference, we need your cooperation in following the procedures set up by the sponsoring organizations.

  • You must sign in at the Registration Desk upon your arrival. Your signature must appear in the roster in order for NICABM to award your well-deserved credit.
  • During the conference, you must complete, sign and hand in an evaluation form for each session you attend.
  • At the end of the conference, you must complete and drop off the CE/CME Final Report Form and the Conference Final Evaluation Form, which are included in your registration packet.
  • All materials must be returned to us before you leave the conference. Upon verification of your submitted paperwork, you will be able to download your certificate from our website. If you do not receive a certificate, and you think you should, please call us at 800-743-2226.
